Obituary of Rex Heidmann Rex Heidmann was called peacefully to join the kingdom of heaven on January 17th, 2019. Rex was born in Runnymede, Saskatchewan on September 1, 1929, to a loving family that included 5 brothers and 1 sister. After surviving an education in a single room schoolhouse, Rex and all of his brothers managed to graduate from Lutheran Theological Seminary in Columbus, Ohio.

Rex served congregations in Lewiston, Idaho; Winnipeg, Canada; Fort Wayne, Indiana; and Kalamazoo, Michigan – eventually settling in Oregon, retiring after 17 years as Senior pastor of Central Lutheran Church in Portland. Rex is survived by his wife of 63 years, Melita, his son Eric (Cindy), daughter Lisa (Helios); grandchildren Kalen, Lucas, Kasia, Justin, and Brianna; and great grandchildren, Presley, Payton, Rylie, Bella Jo, and Charlotte. Rex was preceded in death by his beautiful daughter Linita (Bryan).

A celebration of Rex`s life will take place at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church at 9800 SE 92nd Ave. in Happy Valley, OR on Feb. 23rd.
