Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Ms. Rhonda Michelle Schwinn Hammons, 48, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Desoto. Visitation will be Monday, April 1, 2019, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m., also at Coleman Funeral Home.

Interment will be at Old Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements. Ms. Rhonda was born in Pontotoc, MS.

She always had such a bright and pleasant personality. Ms. Rhonda was extremely strong and was never afraid to express her opinions. Her pride and joy was her two sons.

Ms. Rhonda would express how proud she was of them every chance she had. She had a way of touching the life of everyone she came in contact with. Ms. Rhonda was an amazing mother, daughter, aunt, and sister.

She will be dearly missed. Ms. Rhonda is survived by her two sons, Justin Hammons and Joshua Hammons, both of Hernando, MS; her mother, Mae Darby of Water Valley, MS; her father, Joseph Schwinn, Sr., of Horn Lake, MS; her step-father, James E. Darby, Jr., of Water Valley; three brothers, Anthony Jenkins and William Jenkins, both of Water Valley, and Joseph Schwinn, Jr., of Hernando; two nieces, B.J. (Scott) McElroy of Florence, MS, and Joann Schwinn of Hernando; one nephew, Jamey Jenkins of Mendenhall, MS; one great-nephew, Jonathan McElroy of Florence; one great-niece, Addilyn McElroy of Florence; one aunt, Ann Sledge Savage of Water Valley; one great-niece or great-nephew on the way; and a host of cousins. Ms. Rhonda was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Culley Sledge and Amos Schwinn; two grandmothers, Annie Grace Britt and Mary Schwinn; and one cousin, Tina Savage.
