Richard Anthony Federico, age 60, died suddenly in the early morning hours of Sunday March 10, 2019. He suffered a heart attack which led to his death in Bronx, New York. “Rich” was born on June 29, 1958 to Armando “Monty” L. Federico and Lucia “Lucy” M. Federico of Yonkers, NY and was the youngest of their 5 children.

Rich attended Roosevelt High School in Yonkers where he wrestled and graduated in 1976. Following graduation, Rich worked for the family business, Federico Landscaping of Yonkers until he began a career as an Operating Engineer for Local 13 and 14 in New York, New York. On September 7, 1986 he married Mary A. Federico of Ardsley.

On February 16, 1989, Mary gave birth to their only child, Richard Angelo Federico. The family moved to Mahopac, NY in 1994. In December of 2009, Mary passed away due to complications resulting from pneumonia.

He is survived by his son, Richard Federico of New York, NY, sister Pearl (Federico) Rose of Somers, NY, brothers, Armando J. Federico of Lake Ariel, PA, Lou Federico of Naples, FL, Vic Federico of Yonkers, New York, four nieces, six nephews, two great nieces and eleven great nephews. Visiting will be held from 4-8 PM today (Wednesday) at Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home, 64 Ashford Ave. , Dobbs Ferry, NY, where a service will take place 9:30AM on Thursday.

Rich will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife Mary immediately following at Rose Hill Cemetery, Putnam Valley, NY. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Richard Anthony Federico please visit our Sympathy Store.
