Obituary for Richard “Dick” “Bop” Thomas Guzik Guzik, Richard “Dick” “Bop” Thomas Passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his beloved children. Born March 28, 1934 to Polish parents Vincent & Stephanie (Stella) Guzik. Richie was raised in Columbia Heights with his 8 older siblings and 1 younger sister.

He attended Immaculate Conception and Columbia Heights High School where he played football & met his soulmate of 63 years, June Dulleck, from Edison High School at the Band Box on Central Avenue. After High School graduation, Dick proudly served his country in the United States Army while stationed in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He returned to Minnesota and graduated from both St. Thomas University and the University of Minnesota, respectively, with degrees in Business.

He went on to become a very successful businessman and entrepreneur. Dick was the Vice President and co-owner of Aro Industries; President and sole owner of Arkad Corporation- a business he started to help his 3 sons. When he wasn’t working he was playing golf; a game he loved and played well.

He had 9 hole-in-ones in his lifetime! Mostly, Dick was a simple man with incredibly strong values and an unbelievable work ethic. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix!

He was smart, honest, gave unconditionally and was extremely generous with everything he had and owned. Most important to him was his family; June, his kids, grandkids. .

and the Totino Grace football team! He touched many lives and will be greatly missed! For those people fortunate to have known him and share his life, we will be reminded of his generosity, strength, honesty and love of TG (Eagles) football when we see a majestic eagle soar!

He will remain forever in our hearts! Dick is preceded in death by his lovely wife, June; and his eldest son, Ricky. He is survived by his twin boys, Tommy and Timmy; daughters, Elizabeth (Bruce) Hegedus, and Suzanne (Mark) Hart; his adored grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Botzet and Lillian Rozek; many in-laws, nieces, nephews, long established friends and golf pals!

A special thank you to the University of Minnesota for taking such special care of Richard for the past 25 years! Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:30am, Thursday Oct. 4th, with visitation 1 hour prior at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (835 2nd Ave NW.

New Brighton, Mn) Private burial to follow at Ft. Snelling. In lieu of flowers donations to the American Heart Association.
