Richard Albert Neve was born on September 10, 1936 to parents Albert and Alma (Heidemann) Neve in Walters, Minnesota. He grew up on a farm near Walters on the Freeborn and Faribault county line. Dick graduated from Kiester High School in 1955 where he ran track and played football.

He then started working at Queen Stoves and Page and Hill Homes. For 35 years, he worked at Progress Castings as a supervisor. On July 12, 1957, Dick married Beverly Warke at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Albert Lea.

Together, they raised their four children in Albert Lea. They were members of Salem Lutheran Church. In his free time Dick enjoyed fishing with his daughter and grandchildren.

He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. During the holidays, he treasured watching A Christmas Story. Dick loved to cook, bake, and trade recipes with his sisters.

In the afternoons, Dick would sit on the front porch watching his grandchildren and the neighborhood kids play. He also enjoyed spending time at the park with his grandchildren. For years, Dick and Bev watched their grandchildren and great granddaughter; precious time they cherished.

He loved his canine companions, especially Spike and Katie. Dick enjoyed having his furry ‘grandchildren’ visit as well. His grins, belly laughs, and “uffdas” will forever be missed.
