Obituary for Richard “Dick” Okenfuss Richard “Dick” Okenfuss was Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, Tues. January 22, 2019. He passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by family.

Dick was born to Max and Gladys Appelt Okenfuss of Ste. Genevieve, MO on January 26th, 1937. He went to Valle High School in Ste.

Genevieve and Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy, in Rolla MO, where he earned both a BS and MS in Chemical Engineering. Dick met Julie Roerkohl, a Fontbonne College student from Florissant, MO at a Rolla vs Washington University football game and they were married at Sacred Heart Church in Florissant, October 15, 1960. Dick and Julie moved to Cincinnati to work for Procter & Gamble in 1960.

In Cincinnati, they raised a family of three sons, Chuck, Ron and Dan. Dick worked at P&G for 35 years and traveled the world instilling a global spirt in his family. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Gladys Appelt Okenfuss.

He is survived by his wife Julia Roerkohl Okenfuss, sons Charles R. (Judy nee Starobin), Ronald (Jenneke Oosterhoff), and Daniel (Ericka nee Peasley), brother Max J., sisters Peg and Betty Jane, grandsons Jon, Drew, Hai and Jude. Dick will be missed by friends and family around the world. Funeral Mass Mon.

, Jan. 28, 10:00 am at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 17 Joy Ave. , Webster Groves.

Interment Valle Spring Cemetery, Ste. Genevieve, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Visitation Sun. , 3-6 pm a BOPP Chapel, 10610 Manchester Rd. , Kirkwood.
