Richard J. Gordon 89, of Valhalla, N.Y. and formerly of Honolulu, Hawaii died on May 11, 2019 at his residence. He was born on Oct. 31, 1929 to the late Thomas and Edith (nee Zurner) Gordon in North Pelham, N.Y.

He served very proudly with the US Air Force in the early 1950’s and attained the ranks of Lt. Colonel. He later worked on various Air Force Military Bases all over the world as an Environmental Engineer until he retired from the US Government.

Richard is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Violet (nee Harrison) Gordon of Valhalla, N.Y. he also leaves behind his three sister in laws, Anna Harrison Mahony, of Moodus, CT. , Joan (Louis) Harrison Nelson of Stamford, CT. and Elizabeth Harrison Lally of Valhalla, N.Y. also survived by his nine nieces and nephews.

Visiting at Hawthorne Funeral Home on Thursday, 11 AM-1:00 PM where funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM. Interment to follow at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, N.Y. with Full Military Honors. HAWTHORNE FUNERAL HOME 21 West Stevens Ave.
