Obituary for Richard L. Campbell Richard Lewis Campbell, age 96 of Shadyside, Ohio and Edina, Minnesota, died peacefully on Tuesday morning September 4, 2018. Richard was born January 20, 1922 in Bellaire, Ohio to William and Alma Campbell. Richard served in the Navy during WWII aboard the destroyer USS Nelson.

He married Eleanor May Ladyga of Shadyside, Ohio on April 2, 1943. He worked at Ohio Edison Power Co. in Powhattan, Ohio, retiring in 1984 as a shift supervisor. He loved to watch baseball and tennis and was an avid tennis player all of his life.

Richard is survived by his wife Eleanor; daughter Maryellen Kaufman (Bill) of Edina; three grandchildren, Kris (Frank) Kaufman Sackett of Santa Monica, California, Kelly Kaufman and Ryan Fruit of Edina, and David Kaufman, Minneapolis; and five great grandchildren, Molly, Miles and Fiona Fruit, and Luna and Sadie Sackett. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Alan; and sisters, Bernadine and Vivian. Private family services will be held.
