Obituary for Richard L. Clark Print Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Veteran & Friend…. Richard was born in Chisholm, MN on July 10, 1933, and grew up on the Iron Range in northern MN where the cold winters were legendary. After graduating from the University of Minnesota, he quickly relocated to Auburn, California.

He taught History there and was on the ski patrol for the 1960 Winter Olympics. He moved to Orleans, France where he taught in the Department of Defense High School, and where he met his wife of 56 years, Maureen McDonnell. They spent another year teaching in Karlsruhe, Germany before moving back to the US.

Their daughter, Kathleen, was born in Heidelberg, Germany. He was a great traveler visiting nearly every country in Europe and later visiting Australia and New Zealand. He was also an inspirational coach of championship teams in football, baseball, tennis, bowling, and golf.

Dick moved to Piscataway, NJ in 1964 and taught at Colonia Senior High School where he continued his coaching career. Richard was predeceased by his mother, Julia Kuryatnik Clark and father, Melvin Clark. He is survived by his wife, Maureen, daughter Kathleen Pugh (Rick), York, SC, sons Thomas and Robert Clark of Piscataway, NJ, and daughter Jenifer Clark (Andrew Korbak) of New York, NY as well as grandchildren Julie Pugh (fiancé: Brian Anderson), Charleston, SC, James Pugh, Charleston, SC, Avery Clark, New York, NY, and Aiden Clark, New York, NY and his brother, Sam Clark and wife, Barbara, Arden Hills, MN and many nieces, nephews , and friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 3, 2019 from 2-5pm in the Piscataway Funeral Home 18 Stelton Rd. Piscataway, NJ 08854. Funeral services will take place on Monday, February 4, 2019 beginning at 9:45am in funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church Piscataway.

Entombment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Hospice To send flowers to the family of Richard L. Clark, please visit our Heartfelt Sympathies Store.
