Obituary for Richard Maurus St. Hilaire Richard Maurus St. Hilaire, 85, of Pasco, died Friday, September 28th. Richard, or Dick as he was called by family and friends, was born in Yakima, WA on November 29, 1932 to Winnifred (Gaul) and John A. St. Hilaire. He attended Marquette High school, graduating in 1951 and went to St. Martin’s College for one year.
In 1954 he was drafted and served two years in the Army at Camp Irwin. In November 1958 he married Janet Hanses and they had five children. Janet passed away in 1973.
Dick married Louise Thomas in February 1975 and together they had two children. Dick was a farming partner with Hanses and Sons growing potatoes and other crops. He retired in 1993.
Dick enjoyed all the pets he has had over the years, a good joke, brain teaser puzzles, fishing, camping with friends, working in his garden, watching a good football game, and spending time with his family. He was a member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, a Knight of Columbus, and a Serra Club member. He volunteered with KC Help delivering medical equipment to those in need.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, John and Winnifred; sister, Mary; brothers, George and John; wife, Janet; and granddaughter, Alena. Dick is survived by his wife of 43 years, Louise; children, Theresa (Will) Becker, Mark (Tricia), Carol (Jim) Marek, Dan (Diane), Jim (Alyssa), David, and Fr. Kenny; grandchildren, Nathan, Peter, Rachel, Cecilia, Allyson, Brian, Shannon, Kristine, Shelby, Madison, Anna and Karen; and great granddaughter, Callie; sisters, Catherine Boze, Ruth, Judith, and Wynne (Claude) Pierret; brothers, Joe (Kathy) and Tom (Pat).
Recitation of the Rosary will be Friday, October 5, at 6pm at Greenlee Funeral Home in Pasco. Funeral Mass will be at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Pasco, at 2 pm on Saturday, October 6. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Richard Maurus St. Hilaire please visit our Sympathy Store.
