Richard P. Breech, 86, of Catawissa, died at his home in the company of his loved ones on May 4, 2019. He was born at his homestead in Franklin Township, Catawissa on May 24, 1932, son of the late Ira W. and Cora V. (Ash) Breech. He was a farmer all of his life.

He started young farming with his mules, named Tip and Top. He also worked for Kern’s logging wood out, Bloomsburg Sewage Plant, Maxi Manufacturing of Catawissa, and continued farming the rest of his life. Proceeding him in death besides his parents, was son Richard G. Breech “Catman” who died June 16, 1996, four brothers; James, Hurley, Henry, and Frank (Jocko) Breech.

Richard is survived by his wife the former Gloria Mae Levan, whom he shared a loving marriage of 66 years, daughter Laura L. Kile and husband Leroy, son Jeff Z. Breech and wife Vikki, daughter Audrey E. Breech and fiancé Jeff Slusser, daughter Amy R. Breech and fiancé Steve Sidisky. As well as three grandchildren; Jessica Weiss and partner Scott Kaudsen, Joanie Simpson and husband Michael, and Jason Breech and wife Racheal, seven great-grandchildren; Paten Weiss, Skyler, Jagger, and Brooklyn Simpson, Emily, Abby and Olivia, two sisters Mary A. Levan and Lucy V. Horne, and brother-in-law Glen “Sandy” V. Levan. Also his beloved pets, his dogs; Jessie, Gypsy, Ben, Penny, Brandy, and his cats; Tommy, Rascal, and Sancho.

Dad enjoyed farm living, it was the only way of life for him. He cared for a lot of farm animals and loved doing it. Also loved his land, and enjoyed plowing it, making his crops grow and produce.

He always would say “Watch the Road” whenever we would leave the farm. He will be very, very, very, deeply missed by his family. Services will be at the convenience of the family.
