Obituary for Richard R. “Dick” Sullinger Richard R. “Dick” Sullinger, age 86, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born on March 1, 1932 in Elyria and has been a lifelong resident of North Ridgeville. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and went on to own Midview Xcavating from 1986-2007, when he retired.

He was a member of the Ohio Operating Engineers, the North Ridgeville Planning Commission and City Council, and a parishioner at St. Julie Billiart Church. Dick truly loved his work as an excavator, and in his spare time was an avid reader and enjoyed tinkering with and fixing things, but nothing made him happier than spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Georgia (nee James); daughter Susanne (Donald) Wilhelmy of North Ridgeville; son Raymond (Janet) Sullinger of North Ridgeville; grandchildren Michelle (Ryan) Wagner, Brian (Victoria) Sullinger, Neil (Cami) Sullinger, Derek Sullinger, Eric Wilhelmy and Megan Wilhelmy; great grandchildren Chloe Wagner, Jaxon Wagner and Ian Sullinger; brothers Robert Sullinger and John (Kathy) Sullinger; many nieces and nephews.

Dick was preceded in death by his son Donald Sullinger; parents Raymond H. and Mable E. (nee Ternes) Sullinger. Family will receive friends in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd. , N. Ridgeville on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and on Friday at 8:30 a.m. for a prayer service preceding a 9:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Julie Billiart Church, 5500 Lear Nagle Rd.

, N. Ridgeville. Rev. George Vrabel will be the celebrant.

Interment with Full Military Honors by V.F.W. 9871, N. Ridgeville will be at St. Peter Cemetery, N. Ridgeville. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Dick’s name to the St. Julie Billiart Capital Improvement Fund.
