Obituary for Richard “Rich” Van Vuren Richard Van Vuren, age 81 of DeMotte, passed away at Cedar Creek Health Campus on Tuesday, October 2, 2018. He was born October 21, 1936 in Lansing, IL. He is the son of Richard Sr. and Dora (Ooms) Van Vuren, both deceased.

Rich graduated from Wheatfield High School, class of 1955. He married the love of his life, Shirley VanderMolen on January 29, 1965 in Highland, IN. Rich was the owner & operator of Keener Repair for 20 years.

After retirement, he drove a truck for the DeKock’s. He was a member of First Christian Reformed Church of DeMotte where he was a past elder and deacon. Rich loved to golf in his spare time and he & Shirley enjoyed wintering in Florida.

Rich is survived by his wife, Shirley Van Vuren of DeMotte, IN; sons: Scott (Kristi) Van Vuren of DeMotte, IN; Lee (Alicia) Van Vuren of Wheatfield, IN; one grandson, Ben Kuipers; sister: Delores Coffer of DeMotte, IN; brother: Wayne (Carolyn) Van Vuren of Wheatfield, IN; sister-in-law Donna Van Vuren of DeMotte, IN; brother-in-law: Ray VanderMolen of Granville, MI; many nieces & nephews. Rich was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Jacob Van Vuren; brother-in-law: Jim Coffer; sisters-in-law: Jean VanderMolen and Janice VanderMolen. Friends may call at the Jackson Funeral Service of DeMotte, IN on Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM.

Funeral Services will be held at First Christian Reformed Church on Friday, October 6, 2018 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Laryn Zoerhof officiating. Interment will follow at the Holland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to DeMotte Christian School.
