Richard Robert Gallimore September 11, 1933 – January 6, 2019 RICHARD ROBERT GALLIMORE September 11, 1933 – January 6, 2019 Richard Robert Gallimore, beloved husband and loving father, peacefully passed away January 6th, 2019. He was the youngest child born to Hal and Sara Gallimore. Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Richard joined the Air Force After graduating from Mt.

Carmel High School and served in Greenland during the Korean War. After being discharged, he graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and became employed at the Greater Metropolitan Sanitary District of Chicago. Richard dedicated his career to public service, ultimately retiring as the General Manager of the Evanston Water Reclamation Plant outside of Chicago.

After retiring from the district, he worked as a wastewater consultant for Professional Services Group and traveled to San Diego and Boston where he worked on the Boston Harbor Project. Richard enjoyed playing golf, but his favorite pastime was writing letters about current events. His published letters in the local newspaper were often controversial and thought provoking.

Later in retirement he became interested in silverwork. This interest became a hobby that led him to create many beautiful pieces of jewelry. Richard is survived by his wife, Linda; sons – Hal and Jamie; stepchildren Scott, Cathy and Chris Ainsworth; his sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Fran Callaghan; five grandchildren; eight nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews.
