He was preceded in death by his parents, Talmadge and Lettie Dempsey Brady; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Victoria Persinger; brother, Billy C. Dempsey and sister-in-law, Betty L. Dempsey. .

He is survived by his wife, Diane G. Dempsey; children, Kim Persinger (Robby) and Angie Krumnow (Todd); brother, Donald E. Dempsey and grandchildren, Andrew Persinger (Magen), Amy Persinger, Morgan Krumnow and Mary Katherine Krumnow. A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, February 15, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at Ocmulgee Baptist Church.
