Richard Thomas “Dick” Greene, 93, of Breckenridge, MI, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2019, at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca, MI, on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at 1:00 P.M., with Dr. Keith Wise officiating. The family will be present for visitation 2 hours prior to the service.

Following cremation, burial will be at a later date at Pine Grove Cemetery, Ithaca, MI. Dick was born in Lansing, MI on April 8, 1926, the son of George and Cecile (Somerville) Greene. He attended St. Louis Public Schools.

Dick proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WW II aboard the U.S.S. Knox in the Pacific Theater. Dick married Sharon Lee Moore on April 1, 1992 in Ithaca, MI. Sharon passed away on September 26, 2010.

He was an electrician for Dow Chemical and retired in 1985. Dick resided most of his life in the Breckenridge area. Dick was a man who lived life to the fullest.

He loved his family, and enjoyed camping, fishing, sailboarding, bicycling, motorcycle riding, knot tying, and kite flying. Dick did yoga before yoga was cool, and was a scuba diving instructor. He was also a member of the Midstatesmen Barbershop Chorus and St. Louis Church of Christ.

Dick is survived by his daughter Linda (George) Reed of Saginaw, son Dennis (Linda) Greene of Morley, 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and a great great grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sharon (2010), and his son and daughter-in-law: Michael and Kathleen Greene (2010).
