Obituary of Richard Field OAKS CORNERS/ FROSTPROOF, FL. – Richard E. “Dick” Field, age 84, died unexpectedly on Saturday (December 2, 2017) in Jacksonville, Fla. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 10 a.m. on Saturday (June 23) at Oaks Corners Presbyterian Church.

Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, Oaks Corners. Dick was born on May 7, 1933, in Bath, N.Y. the son of the late Perry and Thelma Degroff Field. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and was a cook on the USS Newman K. Perry Destroyer.

After Korea he was a cook at Sampson Air Force Base and the Newark State School. He then went to work at Mobil Chemical where he retired in 1995. He enjoyed woodworking and traveling.

He and his wife belonged to the Sunnybrook Club. They have been wintering in Florida since 1995. He is survived by his loving wife, Arlene Field; children David (Cathy) Field of Sumrall, Mississippi, Doug (Julia) Field Penn Yan, Wendy (D.J.) Gelder of Phelps; sisters Muriel Brayton of Land-O-Lakes, Fla.

and Linda (Pat) Cook of Wasilla Alaska; sister-in-law, Joanne Field of Reading, Pa. , nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren . His was predeceased by his brother, Roger.
