ROTHERT, Jr., Richard J. “Rick”, age 71, of Washington Twp passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2018. Rick was born in Toledo, OH on September 16, 1946 to Richard and Katherine (Stoiber) Rothert, Sr He graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1964.

After graduation, Rick served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. Upon return he married the love of his life, Linda A. Kolinski. He worked and retired from AT&T after 30 years of service as a systems developer.

After retirement he and Linda moved to Put-In-Bay where he served as fiscal officer for the township and volunteered as an EMT for the Put-In-Bay Fire Department. Rick was a loving and generous man who never missed an opportunity to lend a helping hand, get involved with his community, share a laugh, offer a hug of support and encouragement, and (in his spare time) go sailing or fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles Rothert; sister, Katherine Heilman.

Rick is survived by his loving wife of 46 years daughters, Jan (Dennis) Reibert, Shari (Dale) Hamblin; grandchildren, Savannah (Matt) Roemer-Wilburn, Jacob Roemer, Dale Hamblin Jr, Morgan Hamblin, Skylar (Dustin) Hamblin, Stone Hamblin; great-grandchildren, Logan, Clayton, Carson, Ella, Ethan, Haleigh, numerous nieces and nephews, and blessed with countless amazing friends. Family will greet friends from 1-3pm on Saturday, September 22 at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N Main St, Centerville. Memorial Service will begin at 3pm at the funeral home.
