Obituary for Rickey L. Phillips Rickey L. Phillips, 70, of Mentone, Indiana and formerly of Delphi passed at 3:20 pm, Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Millers Merry Manor of Warsaw, Indiana. He was born on Jan. 10, 1948 in Lafayette, Indiana to John and Evaleen (Kauffman) Phillips.
He married on March 8, 1975 in LaPorte, Ind. to Martha L. Bozek, she survives. He was a teacher for Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation at the High School, Middle School, Akron, and Mentone for many years.
He also taught Driver’s Training. Before Valley he taught for 1 year in LaPorte where he met his wife. He was a Delphi High School graduate in 1966.
He then furthered his education attaining his degree from Purdue University and his Master’s from Eastern Michigan University. He volunteered for the Mentone EMT’s. He was a member of the Mentone Lions Club, the Mentone Masonic Lodge #576, and the Scottish Rite of Indianapolis.
He enjoyed muzzleloading and rifle shooting along with hunting and reading about history. He was also fond of traveling. Survivors and place of residence: Wife – Martha Phillips – Mentone, Ind.
