Obituary for Ricki Anderson Bybee Heaven has gained a most beloved and valiant daughter of God. Ricki Anderson Bybee returned home to our Heavenly Father and His Son on September 21, 2018 due to complications of liver failure. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Ron, her children; Ryan (Sarah) Bybee, Las Cruces, NM; Erin (Troy) Phillips Rifle, CO; Lee (Valesca) Bybee Highlands Ranch, CO; her mother, Ellen Anderson of Salt Lake City, UT; sisters Shari Milner, Bolinas, CA; Tami Anderson, Salt Lake City, UT; Diane Hoffman, Moab, UT.

Her grandchildren; Alyssa (Talon) Choate, Rexburg, ID; McKinley (Austin) Frazier, Provo, UT; Payton (Joey) Osbon Idaho Falls, ID; Brynna Bybee, Zachary Bybee, Delaney Phillips, Maryn Bybee, Easton Phillips, Brett Bybee, Baden Phillips and Camden Phillips. She has a great grandchild, Declan Choate, and 2 more on the way in coming months. She is preceded in death by her father Dewey C. Anderson and her infant son Christopher Bybee.

Ricki was born to Ellen Rothwell and Dewey C. Anderson on April 13, 1945 in Provo. UT. She attended Highland High School in Salt Lake City, UT.

While attending Utah State University, she became acquainted with the love of her life, Ron Bybee. They were married September 6, 1966 in the Salt Lake City, UT LDS Temple. She was a precious wife, mother, mother-in-law, Grammy, Great-Grammy, daughter, aunt, sister and friend.

She was a woman of faith and a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served selflessly in numerous church callings and community volunteer capacities during her lifetime. She touched the lives of all who knew her.

She had the ability to make each person feel loved, encouraged, supported. Ricki’s family was and is everything to her. She was an immaculate homemaker and blessed the lives of those around her with her vast artistic abilities.

She loved to expand on her gifts and talents, particularly in photography as she would take all of the family pictures and pictures for birthdays, weddings, graduations, and any other special occasion. She had a fantastic talent for floral arrangements and provided beautiful floral pieces for her granddaughters’ weddings. She encouraged her family to challenge themselves and could always see the greatest potential in others.

Ricki was a woman of great poise and elegance, and always made others feel like the most important people in the room. She endured many hardships in her life, but always handled them with grace, keeping her focus on the Savior. She had a firm understanding of and appreciation for the Gospel of Jesus Christ, even from a young age, which molded her into the valiant woman she was.

She and her husband together enjoyed collecting pottery and creating beautiful homemade nativities, a tradition enjoyed by all the family. Through life and death, they were and are inseparable. She was an exemplar, a help-meet, a friend, a confidant, and a profitable servant of the Lord all her life.

Memorial services are scheduled for Friday, October 5th, 2018, 6:00 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel located at 3210 Venus St. Las Cruces, NM 88012 In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the LDS Humanitarian Fund or a charity of your choice.
