OBITUARY RITA JOYCE MILLER November 7, 2018 – November 7, 2018 Rita Joyce Miller, 75, passed away peacefully in a local care center. A Ville Platte native, Rita been a resident of Westlake for over 50 years. She loved working with the public, never met a stranger and thought of her customers as friends.

Over the years, she worked for Randy’s Supermarket,Pelly Mart, Dairy Queen and Burger King. Rita was a young widow who raised five children on her own, instilling the values of hard work and kindness in them. Her husband of 16 years, Charles Ronald Miller Sr.; and son, James Barry Miller, preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Charles R. Miller Jr “Rowdy”, Gwen Michelle Miller, John Cleveland Miller and Robert C. Attales and his wife Jamie; grandchildren, Jennifer Towne Romero, Trent Joseph Quibodeaux,Courtny R. Miller, Dalton Ronald Miller, Benjamin A. Miller, Brittany Robertson, Michael Dylan Miller, Devin Miller, Courtland D. Simoneaux and Ashland R. Miller; and numerous great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Rita’s life will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018, in Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff.

Brother Mike Richardson will officiate. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Westlake. Visitation willbe 2–8 p.m. Friday and resume on Saturday at 8 a.m. until time of service.
