Rita Smith Holcomb, age 63 of Demorest, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 16, 2019. Born in Demorest, Georgia on April 04, 1956, she was a daughter of the late Ray Larkin & Virrie Smith Smith. Rita’s passion was always caring for others but most of all spending precious time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.

She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and concert nights in Hiawassee with her family. Rita attended Fairfield Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her niece, Kathy Smith.

Survivors include her children, Misty & John Erwin, Chrissy Dover, Wesley & Kristi Thomas, all of Demorest, GA; 12 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, significant other of 25 years, Bill Million of Demorest, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Anita & Richard Ferguson of Demorest, GA; Rhonda & Gary Sutton of the Batesville Community, Clarkesville, GA; brother, Tim Smith of Demorest, GA; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, & a host of friends. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2019 at Hillside Memorial Chapel with Rev. Keith Allison officiating.

Interment will follow in the Fairfield Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. An online guest book is available at www.
