Robert A. “Bob” Briddick, 85, resident of Eldorado passed away Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the Brookstone Estates in Harrisburg. Bob was born October 8, 1933 in Eldorado to the late Frank and Helen (Newton) Briddick. He served in the US Air Force.

He married the former Marietta King who preceded him in death April 23, 2018. He was an elder and active member of the Eldorado First Christian Church. Bob was a member of the Eldorado City Council, currently serving as the Police Commissioner.

Bob also served as a past Mayor of Eldorado, former Eldorado Police Chief and was a life member of the Eldorado American Legion. Although Bob has many interests, he dedicated his life to God, family and civic engagement. Bob is survived by a daughter: Elizabeth Adams of Normal, a son: Steven (Christina) Briddick of Eldorado, a sister: Mabel Roberts of Pontiac, three grandchildren: Kahlus Adams of Normal, Beth Thomas of VA, Ashley (Justin) Crawford of VA, three great grandchildren: Leya, Lexus and Carter, sister-in-law: Marilyn King of Eldorado other family members: Carol King of DeSoto, nieces and nephews: Traci (Mike) Yakimisky of Algonquin, Morgan (Jason) Moser of Carbondale, Larry, Cheryl and Amy Roberts of Pontiac, Todd Roberts of Rockford, several great nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am Saturday, March 9, 2018 at the First Christian Church in Eldorado, 1125 Walnut Street, with Rev. Biff Moore officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 pm Friday, March 8, 2019 at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado, and 10-11 am at the First Christian Church on Saturday immediately prior to funeral services at 11:00 am.

Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church and will be accepted at the church and the funeral home. Condolences and expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family via the website www.
