Robert’s Obituary Robert A. Brown, age 88, a longtime resident of Northville, passed away March 2, 2019. He was born March 11, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan; son of Joseph and Flora (nee Kermode) Brown. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1947-1956, during the Korean Conflict.

When he returned from active duty, he married the love of his life, Mary I. Sullivan; devoted to each other for 60 years until her death on October 25, 2016. Bob was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Northville since 1968. He worked as an Inspector for General Motors for 30 years.

Bob was a life member of the VFW Post 4624. He enjoyed watching sports, especially hockey. He also liked to garden.

Bob was a hard worker and true provider for his family. He was known as a bit stubborn but very dedicated. Bob was a wonderful husband, a caring and strict father of 4 girls, and a cherished grandfather.

Bob is survived by his daughters, Debra (David) Coe, Linda (Marty) McGuire, Mariann (John) Strauch, and Brenda (Matthew) Jobin; his grandchildren, Melissa (Kurtis) Doerr, Stephanie (Dustin) Gauderman, Greg (Kim) McGuire, Christopher (Jill) McGuire, John Strauch, Cody Strauch, Sean (Katelin Bovee) Jobin; and his great grandchildren, Abby Doerr, Paige Doerr, Parker Doerr, Zoey Doerr, Ruby Gauderman, Landon Gauderman, Mason McGuire, Myles McGuire, Michaela McGuire, and Leena McGuire. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his siblings, Viola Taylor, Dorothy Rupp, Alice Belchin, Margaret Timmerman, Ruth Gudnea, Joseph Brown, and Babe Schulte. Visitation will by held Tuesday, March 5, 2019 from 4pm until 8pm at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville.

He will be laid to rest at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorial contributions to St. Paul Lutheran School, 201 Elm Street, Northville, MI 48167 or Angela Hospice, 14100 Newburgh Road, Livonia, MI 48154.
