Robert “Bob” Allen Osterman, 87, died at Avamere Rehabilitation of Oregon City from congestive heart failure. Preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Lora M. Osterman, 73, in 2009 and daughter, Linda M. Osterman in 1989. He leaves behind sons, Michael A. Osterman, Randall M. Osterman, Jeffery R. Osterman and Bradley D. Osterman; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many close friends.

Born in Yamhill, Ore. , the son of Hiram and Louise Osterman, Bob had moved to California, Ashland, McMinnville and Lebanon. After graduating Lebanon high school, in 1949, Bob joined the military.

He was a veteran of the Korean War serving two years with distinction in the Navy, ‘BUL3’. He then returned to Lebanon and married Lora Osterman in 1955. Bob remained in Lebanon where he was in business building homes with his father for many years before moving to Milwaukie, 1962.

He remained in Milwaukie raising his family and continued building homes until he retired in 1997. A Mass of Christian Burial followed by a reception will be 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Milwaukie, Oregon. Cemetery Service with Full Military Honors will be 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, Oregon.
