Obituary for Robert “Bob” Charles Johnson Robert Charles Johnson, 85, of Kerrville passed from this life on Dec 10, 2018 at his residence with family close by. Bob was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Nov. 03, 1933 to Charles and Gladys Johnson.

His family moved back to Texas when he was a young child. He grew up in San Antonio, graduated from Edison High School. He first met his wife, Theo Ann “Susie” Kennedy at a dance in Center Point.

They were married in Kerrville (1955) where they made their home and raised three daughters. Bob worked for the railroad in San Antonio, before being drafted into the Army (101st Airborne) where he served 2 years. Upon his discharge, he went to work for Mooney Aircraft (10 years).

While employed for Lear Siegler in 1969, he worked overseas in Vietnam as a civilian, repairing helicopters for the military. His last employment was for the City of Kerrville (Inspection Dept. ), where he retired in 1996 after 20 plus years.

He was an avid gardener and enjoyed many outdoor hobbies, hunting, fishing, camping and arrowhead collecting. Mr. Johnson is survived by his daughters, Ann Johndrow (John) and Tammy Waters (Dan); son in law, Jim Stewart; grandchildren, Robbie Turley, Derrick Turley (Jordan), Elizabeth Gutierrez, Melissa Trammel (Jeff), Will Howell (Whittney), Mark Howell, Alisha Stewart, Melissa Stewart (James), Jamie Turner; 19 great grandchildren, extended family and many life long friends. Preceded in death by his wife, Susie; daughter, Carol Stewart; mother Gladys August; and brothers, Donald and Ralph Johnson.

The family greatly appreciates the support and compassionate care provided by Peterson Hospice in the last months of his life. Special thanks to Ernestina Gutierrez for the loving personal care and friendship given to “Mr. Bob” over the years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to Peterson Hospice, the Dietert Center or the Hill Country Veterans Center.
