Age 93, of Mount Lebanon, formerly of Murrysville, on May 1, 2018. Beloved husband of Virginia (Crouthamel) Mason; devoted father of Keith R. (Linda R.) Mason and the late Sandi Mason (Ken); cherished ‘Pop’ of Sean Robert and Gianna Maria Mason, brother of Leroy Mason (Edith), Katherine Stribe (Ralph) and the late Willard Mason (Alberta); also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews. Bob was a proud Navy Veteran of World War II and a graduate of Carnegie Tech (now Carnegie Mellon University).
He spent the majority of his career in management at West Penn Power Company. Robert was devoted to the love of his life – his wife of 66 years, Ginny. He was a man of faith and served as a trustee of the First United Methodist Church, Murrysville, an officer in the Lions Club, a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, as well as serving others in the community.
Bob was an avid outdoorsman and was passionate about hunting, golfing and particularly fly-fishing. He enjoyed keeping up with the stock market and most of all doting on his grandchildren. Friends will be welcomed at Laughlin Cremation and Funeral Tributes, 222 Washington Road, Mount Lebanon on Friday from 3:00 until 7:00pm.
A Memorial Service will be held in Bower Hill Community Church on Moffett Street in Mt. Lebanon, Saturday morning at 11:00 o’clock. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bower Hill Community Church for Sandi’s Garden (A SHIM garden in honor of his sweet daughter Sandi).
