OBITUARY Robert C. Bays May 1, 1926 – January 1, 2019 Robert Clowney Bays, 92, of Alma, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2019. He was born May 1, 1926 in Russellville, WV to the late Grover and Clara Bays. He was a graduate of West Virginia University and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was retired from Dow Chemical Company as a salesman, and St. Edward Mercy Medical Center. He was a member of Parkway Christian Church in Plantation, FL for seventeen years, where he served as a deacon and elder, taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and was chairman of several functional committees. In Fort Smith, he was a member of First Christian Church where he served as a deacon and actively served on several functional committees.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Givens, and brothers, Haynes, John D. and Sam Bays. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Bays of the home; and two sons, Bruce Bays and Robert Bays. Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.

There are no services scheduled at this time. Ashes will be interred at Cemetery Hill in Russellville, WV at a later date.
