Robert’s Obituary Robert C. Stewart, 89, of Lake Wylie, SC, Belmont, NC, and formerly of Lansdale, PA, passed away on March 15, 2019 at the Lake Wylie Retirement & Assisted Living Community in Lake Wylie, SC. He was the beloved husband of 61 years to Mary (nee Bartley) Stewart. Born March 4, 1930 in Drexel Hill, PA he was the son of the late Edward and the late Regina (nee Still) Stewart.

Robert was a graduate of Lansdale High School, who then went to Temple University where he was awarded an Associate Degree, and then onto LaSalle University where he was awarded a Bachelors Degree. Robert was a United States Army Veteran who proudly, honorably, and faithfully served his country during the Korean War, and he was a former employee of the Philco Ford Company and also the NCR Company. He was a member of the American Legion, and his greatest joy in life came from spending time with his family.

Robert will always be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his wife, Robert is also survived by his daughter, Arleen S. Hargett (Rob), of Belmont, NC and his grandchildren, Jessica Anderson (Joshua), and Joshua Hargett. He was also preceded in death by his son, the late Billy Stewart, and his brother, the late Richard Stewart.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 from 10:00-11:00 AM at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Avenue, Lansdale, PA, 19446 and to participate in his Graveside Committal Service at 11:30 AM at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Ambler, PA 19002, followed by Military Funeral Honors rendered by the United States Army. The family has respectfully requested that all flowers be omitted, and that those desiring to do so may make a memorial contribution in Robert’s name to the The Association of Retarded Citizens (The A.R.C.), 1825 K Street, NW, Suite 1200, Washington, DC. 20006, and which would be deeply appreciated by his family.
