Obituary for Robert D. “Bob” Stamp ROBERT DELMAN STAMP, age 94, Colorado Springs, died peacefully November 12, 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Marie Stamp, on March 23, 1999; parents Otto and Mary Stamp; one brother Ronald Stamp and one sister Ardel Aasgaard. He is remembered with love by son Steve Stamp (Lynn) of Marion, IA; daughter Terry Sloan of Colorado Springs; son Russ Stamp (Cheryl) of Port Townsend, WA, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was born August 10, 1924 in Walnut, Iowa to Otto and Mary Stamp and graduated from high school in Oakland, Iowa in 1941. During WWII, he entered military service in March 1943 volunteering for the paratroopers and was assigned to the 507th Parachute Regiment of the 82nd Airborne Division with one combat jump over the Rhine River in Germany in March 1945. He was discharged in 1946, and he and Joan Marie were married on August 14, 1948.

He graduated from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa in 1950 with a B.S. in Business Administration. He worked for the Ottumwa Community School District from 1963-1973 as Business Manager, and for the Waterloo Community School District as Executive Director of Business Affairs from 1973-1989. He loved playing golf and was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies after retiring to Colorado Springs in 1990.
