OBITUARY Robert Dean Bonardi May 19, 1935 – December 4, 2018 Robert Dean “Mr. Bob” Bonardi, 83, of St. James, passed away on December 4th, 2018. Mr. Bonardi was born in North Bergen, New Jersey to the late Dino and Helen Bonardi. Bob was a graduate of Rutgers University and began his career with California Oil Company.

He then worked in direct marketing for Publishers Clearing House in Long Island, New York. Following his time there, Mr. Bonardi served as the Vice President of Marketing for Omaha Steaks. Bob was instrumental in the direct marketing model for selling gourmet steaks through the mail.

Subsequently, he owned his own company for several years. He was a volunteer at South Brunswick Middle School for 17 years, where he was affectionately known as Mr. Bob, working three days a week as a math tutor and mentor. Mr. Bonardi is survived by his wife of 60 years, Isabel Bonardi, two sons, Douglas and Gregg, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, and a sister Linda Dorsi.

He was preceded in death by a brother Bill. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to SECU Hospice House of Brunswick, 955 Mercy Lane, Bolivia, NC 28422 or to St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, 205 E Moore St, Southport, NC 28461. A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 8, 2018 in the St. James Chapel.
