Obituary for Robert Dean McClelland Robert Dean McClelland Robert Dean McClelland was born in a farmhouse in Wakarusa, KS, on August 11, 1925, to Howard Russell and Antonia Leupold McClelland. He passed from this life on Thursday, September 20, 2018, at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. Robert married Dorothy Marie on March 12, 1950.

Their marriage was blessed with three children, Linda, Rusty, and Darlene. Robert a graduate of Silver Lake High School participated in several vocations. He was a life-long farmer including a lengthy stint as the president of the Topeka Master Gardeners.

He sold insurance as an independent agent owning his own business. He preached for many years for smaller congregations of the Churches of Christ who did not have full time ministers. For many years Robert and Dorothy were members of the Central Church of Christ in Topeka.

Robert is survived by his wife, Dorothy Marie McClelland (Of the Home); his children, Linda Keesling (Chantilly, VA), Russell A. McClelland and wife, Kelly (Topeka, KS), Darlene K. Haynes and husband, Terry L. (Edmond, OK); his sister, Lorene Hoffmeister and husband, Dick (Topeka, KS); his grandchildren, Darrell Keesling, David Keesling, Steven McClelland, Shelley Barrett, Geoffrey Haynes, Emily Taylor; and his four great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Central Church of Christ, 1250 S.W. College Ave. Topeka, KS.

The family will receive friends at a visitation held at the Central Church of Christ on Friday, September 28, 2018, from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 P.M.
