Obituary for Robert E. Humphreys Robert Edward Humphreys, 67, an 8-year resident of Jamul, California, died peacefully at his home on Sunday, January 6, 2019. He is survived by his mother, Frances Jean Humphreys-Rio, his sister, Patricia Anne Humphreys, his brother Steven Lewis Humphreys, nephew Joseph C. Butner III, niece Mary Frese, niece Kristin Binkley, niece Kathryn Giles and niece Valerie Elaine Humphreys, as well as grand-nephews and nieces. Known affectionately as Ed and Eddie, he served with distinction in the U.S. Navy, rising to the rank of Chief Petty Officer, with tours of duty in Vietnam, the Mediterranean Gulf and Sicily, Italy.

Following his service in the Navy, Ed was honorably discharged and worked for 30 years in the field of Information Technology for Vitro Laboratories, Inc. and later BAE Systems, Inc. in Arlington, Virginia. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Noon Saturday, January 12th, at Marie Callender’s Restaurant at 6950 Alvarado Road, San Diego, CA.
