Robert E. Koberlein, 83 years, of Columbia, IL, passed away on March 22, 2019 at Delmar Gardens South, Sappington, MO. He was born September 14, 1935, in East St. Louis, IL, son of the late Leo F. and Elsie E., nee Kuehner, Koberlein. Our Bob, beloved brother, uncle, great-uncle, colleague, neighbor, and friend.

Bob was a respected colleague at Harres Furniture Store (formerly Weilbacher’s) in Columbia, IL, including being a valued Maytag repairman. He was a loyal season ticket holder for his beloved St. Louis Blues. Being a dedicated weekly usher and volunteer at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church gave life and service to his deep faith.

This gentle, loving, generous family member and neighbor will forever be missed and held lovingly in our hearts. Surviving are his two sisters, Marylin Koberlein of Arnold, MO, and LuAnn Phillips of Torrance, CA; brother, Donald (Mary Jane) Koberlein of Saint Louis, MO; nephews, Jeffrey (Juliana) Phillips, Torrance, CA, Michael (Kathryn) Koberlein, Fenton, MO, and Kevin (Shannon) Koberlein, St. Louis, MO; great-nephews & niece, Benjamin Koberlein, Fenton, MO, Jonathan Koberlein, Fenton, MO, Henry Koberlein, Fenton, MO, Alissa Phillips, Torrance, CA, James Phillips, Torrance, CA, and Elliot Hardin, St. Louis, MO; family friend, Elaine Purdue, Arnold, MO, along with other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Gerald Koberlein; sister, Lela May Koberlein, and brother-in-law, Terry Phillips.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 26, 2019, 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, at Lawlor Funeral Home, Columbia, IL, and Wednesday, March 27, 2019, 9:00 am – 9:45 am, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Columbia, IL. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 10:00 am, at the church, with Fr. Carl Scherrer, officiating.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
