Passed away on June 13, 2018 after a seven year battle with multiple myeloma. He never allowed himself to be defined by his illness and continued with his volunteer activities throughout his years of treatment. Bob was born in 1943 in Wauseon, OH, the son of Alvin and Mary Moll.

He was raised in Indiana and graduated from Indiana University, with subsequent graduate studies in chemistry at Stanford University, and an MBA from Indiana University Business School. Bob spent thirty-two productive years at PPG in Planning and Development and later in I.T. During his PPG tenure he served as board member, treasurer and president of the Mt. Lebanon Nature Conservancy.

Bob truly blossomed, however, when he retired from PPG in 2002. During the following years he immersed himself in volunteer pursuits that included consulting for non profits for the Executive Service Corp. and then the Bayer Center for Non Profit Development.

He also served as treasurer and board member of the Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall in Carnegie, PA, assisting Margaret Forbes, Executive Director. His tireless efforts on behalf of all of these organizations were deeply appreciated. Bob was a long term member of Southminster Presbyterian Church during which time he served on the session and was instrumental in setting up the church computer system.

Bob is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Valerie, his beloved children, Brian (Kim), Robin (Jane), and Evan (Keran) and step daughter, Heather Bond (Kelvin), and cherished grandchildren Joseph, James, John and Justin Moll, Eleanor Rueger, Maddy and Kai Moll, and Fiona and Ronan Gregory. Bob is also survived by his brother, Jon Moll, and sister, Janet Moll. Bob was also very close to the New Jersey family he gained through marriage to Valerie.

They will all recall fondly what a good sport he was at the many joyful Christmas gatherings; whipping up his signature peanut brittle, soothing babies, or cheerfully joining in their silly games. Family members from both sides loved his famous cherry jam from the cherries that grew on his beloved cherry tree. Bob’s lasting legacy will be one of a quiet gentle man with great integrity.

There will be no viewing and internment will be private. A memorial celebration is being planned for a later date.
