Robert E. Weaver, 88, of Convoy, passed away at 3:30 AM Friday, December 07, 2018 at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice. He was born August 23, 1930, in Tully Township, to the late Earl Raymond and Cecil Inez (Bell) Weaver. A 1949 graduate of Convoy High School, Robert married the love of his life, Elsie M. Hart on May 5, 1951.

She preceded him in death. Together they were members of Mt. Victory United Brethren Church in Adams County, IN.

Robert went on to work at Bordon’s Cheese for 32 years before moving on to Eaton for 15 years. He enjoyed gardening and tinkering around on lawn mowers and small motors. He is survived by his daughters, Bonnie (Jacob) Delgado; Connie (Jose) Martinez; Patti Gutierrez, all of Van Wert; sister, Mary Jo Gibson of Monroeville, IN; grandchildren, Kim (Eric) Bauman of Convoy; Bart (Teresa) Say of Van Wert; Meranda (Terry) Marsee of Decatur, IN; Yvonne (Justin) Smith of Germantown; Robert A. Delgado of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Austin, Haley, Hanna, Lindsey, Demian, Rich, Brooke, Tyler, Reese, Emma; great-great grandchildren, Karsyn and Ayva.

In addition to his parents and wife, Robert was preceded in death by his sister, Wilma Thomas, Anna Clingenpeel, Sharon Kay Heller; brothers, Donald and Doyle “Curly” Weaver. Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Gearhart & Jurczyk Funeral Home, Convoy with Rev. Mark Rutledge presiding.

Interment will follow in Convoy IOOF Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 7 PM on Monday at the funeral home. Preferred Memorials are to American Cancer Society.
