In Loving Memory Of Robert Earl Osgood It is with great sadness that the family announces that Robert Earl Osgood known as “Bob” has passed after an almost three-year battle with Lou Gehrig’s disease on May 11th, 2019, at the age of 80 years old. Bob passed away peacefully at home with his beloved wife, children and grandchildren by his side. Bob was born March 25th, 1939 in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

He grew up in Massachusetts and lived there until he was 12 years old, when his family moved to West Covina, California. He was raised in a loving home with wonderful parents. Bob had a happy childhood.

In 1957, Bob graduated from Covina High School. He joined the Army in 1961, where he became a military policeman. He went on to guard the Berlin Wall in Germany.

When he returned, he obtained an Associates Degree in Police Science at Mount San Antonio College. Bob was many things in his career such as a military policeman, a local police officer, a county sheriff, a state highway patrolman, and after he retirement, in his spare time he was a security patrol officer in Twin Oaks, California. He served his country and community until he was physically unable to do so.

Bob met the love of his life, Joni in 1960 and later married her in 1983. They were inseparable every day since. Bob and Joni lived a wonderful and full life in Twin Oaks, California for most of their lives together.

They were married for over 35 amazing years. In 2017, after a year of symptoms, Bob was diagnosed with ALS otherwise known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Bob and Joni moved to Ogden, Utah to be with his daughter, Cindy, and son-in-law, Mike.

Because of his disease he needed extensive care and received care beyond his expectations. Throughout everything Bob was a positive and happy man. And was admired by everyone around him.

A year and a half after being diagnosed, Bob passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and loving family. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Margery and Earl Osgood. Bob is survived by his wife, Joni Osgood, daughter Cindy (Mike) Trujillo, sons Jim (Gentri) Osgood, and Dave Osgood, stepson Blair (Tracy) Davies, sister Barbara Mort, brother Bruce (Diane) Osgood, grandchildren; Courtney, Breanna, Jordan, Saige, and Amanda.

Nieces and nephews; Ken (Veronica) Mort, Debbie (Jerry) Blandino, Julie Mort, Scott (Jenny) Osgood, Laurie (Mike) Magee. There will be a celebration of Bob’s life held Saturday May 18th, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Premier Services, 5335 South 1950 West, Roy, Utah 84067 In memory of Bob, the family would love if anyone coming to the services would write down their favorite memory of him on a piece of paper to be read at the services. There will also be notecards and pens at the service to jot down your memories of Bob.

~ Family will also be wearing red in honor of Bob. He always made sure to wear a red shirt on Fridays to honor our veterans, and we’d like to honor him. If anyone would like to wear red you’re welcome to as well.

Robert Earl Osgood was an amazing man with one of the best smiles out there. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. “Dreaming of you until we’re Together Again” Love, Joni.
