OBITUARY Robert Emmett Thompson Sr. March 8, 1930 – October 2, 2018 Thompson, Sr. Robert, 88, of Township of Washington, NJ, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 2, 2018. Robert was pre deceased by his first wife, Catherine Thompson (nee Smithlin) 1993. He is survived by his beloved wife Juliana, and his children, Teri A. (Vito) Bocchino, Staten Island NY, Robert E. (Denise) Thompson Jr, Paramus, NJ, Timothy F. (Diane)Thompson, Sr. Township of Washington, NJ, Julie Keating Township of Washington NJ and Christine (Tom) Sullivan Hillsdale, NJ.

Brothers, Charles of Chicago, IL and Donald of Las Vegas, NV, 14 Grandchildren and 15 Great grandchildren. . Robert retired from the Postal Service after 37 years.

He retired as post master of the Dumont Post office, as well as a volunteer Fire Fighter of Township of Washington for over 60 years. Robert also served his country in the US army during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954. The family will receive guests at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Thursday, October 4 from 7-9pm and Friday, October 5 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm.

A Mass celebrating Robert’s life and faith will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church, Washington Township, on Saturday, October 6 at 10am . with interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ to follow. In lieu of flowers, please send your donations to the Hospice Care of Hackensack or Township of Washington Volunteer Fire Department.
