Robert Eugene “Bob” Carpenter, 74 of Webster Springs passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born March 22, 1944 in Buckhannon to Robert W. and Dessie M. Scott Carpenter. He was a retired coal miner and a 23 year member of the UMWA.

He attended Webster Springs High School and was an avid WV Mountaineer fan. He liked hunting, fishing, gardening, and digging ginseng. Bob is survived by his wife Lamona Payne Carpenter; sons Larry E. Carpenter of Webster Springs and Airon (Tracie) Carpenter of Harpers Ferry; daughter Cheryl (James) Neundorf of Mansfield, OH; grandchildren Ethan and Natalia Peters; brother Ronnie Carpenter of Dunmore, WV; sister Nancy Tayler of Cleveland, OH; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Richard and Roger Carpenter. Friends may join the family for visitation on Sunday, December 16, 2018 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services to celebrate Bob’s life will be held at 2:00 PM with Rev.

Charles Skeens officiating. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Parcoal. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.
