Robert Gene Sanders, III, affectionately known as “Scooter”, was born on March 8, 1982 in Columbia, South Carolina to Mr. Robert Gene Sanders, Jr. and Ms. Laverne Sanders. He departed from his earthly home and entered into eternal rest to be with the Lord on May 6, 2019. Robert loved music dearly, and music was always a part of his life since childhood.

He was taught piano by Mrs. Barbara Hood, owner of Faith Music Academy, and quickly mastered the ivory keys. He loved to play music for others when he could. Upon graduating from A.C. Flora High School in 2000, Robert attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music Business in 2004.

During Robert’s youthful years at Gill Creek Baptist Church, he participated on the Youth and Gospel Choirs and served as an acolyte. He also served as a musician for the Youth Choir. After graduating college, Robert was employed with Hyperion Books, the publishing arm of the Disney-ABC Television Group in New York.

Robert Gene Sanders, III leaves to cherish his loving memory: his loving parents; two sisters: Paige Monique (Michael) Felder and Brooke McKenzie Sanders; maternal grandmother, Ms. Lillie M. Gallman; paternal grandmother, Ms. Dorothy L. Sanders; one niece, Jordyn Lilly Felder; two nephews: Michael Ryan Felder and Colin Liam Felder; two aunts:Doris Ann Harrison and Connie Gallman; two uncles: Anthony Sanders and Cedric Harrison; two first cousins: Brianna Danielle Eison and Kaitlyn Harrison; godparents: Emanuel and Samuretta Muldrow; godson, Miles Franklin Davis; dear, devoted friends: Latoya and Marcus Johnson; childhood friends: Aukeaus Solomon, DeWayne Bush, Joseph Thompson; cousin Cliff Flateau; and great aunts, great uncles, and all of his wonderful cousins and friends who were all very special to him.
