SIMS, Robert J. (affectionately called Bobby), born March 4, 1943 in Luthersville, Georgia, was called home to be with the Lord Sunday, September 23, 2018. He graduated from Roosevelt High School, Class of 1961 and attended Central State University. He retired as a supervisor from General Motors.

Bobby loved fishing and music. He was an avid sports fan and he especially loved the Cleveland Browns. Bobby enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Julia (Echols) Sims. He is survived by sons, Ian Palmer and Robert A. Sims (Cynthia Berry); mother of his children, Teddy Felton; grandchildren, Cameron Moore, Caiden Schenck, Robert Sims, Rhyian Sims and Rashad Sims; cousins, Peggy Robertson, Carolyn Sumlin, John (Joyce) Finley, and Michael (Tanya) Finley; the Palmer family, close friends, Michael Jackson (Toni) and David Palmer; a host of many nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends. Funeral service will be held 1 pm Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave.

Rev. Dr. Terry Hill officiating. Visitation 10 am-1 pm.

Family will receive friends 12-1 pm. Interment West Memory Gardens.
