Wyoming- TSgt Robert “Fitz” Fitzgibbon USAF, Ret. passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 84.

Mr. Fitzgibbon was born in Des Moines, Iowa the son of the late Austin and Nellie (Vandermillen) Fitzgibbon. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force retiring after 23 years of service as a TSGT. After retiring from the military, Mr. Fitzgibbon was the owner and operator of his own construction company for many years.

He was a member of the Camden VFW Post #3238, Walter L. Fox American Legion Post #2 in Dover and the Camden-Wyoming Moose Lodge #203. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Jeannie (Nicholls) Fitzgibbon in 1987. He is survived by two daughters Debbie Freer Smith (Stephen) of North East, MD and Kathy Freer Spencer (Mark) of Nampa ID, five grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and his companion of 25 years Ilene Breakie of Wyoming and three sisters.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Pippin Funeral Home 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave. Wyoming DE where friends call gather one hour earlier. Burial with full military honors will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden, DE.
