Robert L. Fawcett passed away Sunday evening, February 24, 2019 at The Oaks Care Center in Denville. He was 93. Born in Hollidaysburg, PA, and raised in Latrobe, PA, he had lived in the Whippany section of Hanover Township, NJ for 27 years before moving to Franciscan Oaks at Denville, NJ in 2007.

Mr. Fawcett served honorably in the United States Army during World War II with the 411th Infantry Regiment, 103rd Division in Europe. He received the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star, Citations for the Rhineland and Central Europe Campaigns, and the Combat Infantry Badge. He graduated from Penn State University in 1950 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in chemical engineering.

Mr. Fawcett worked as an environmental engineer and corporate manager for Allied Chemical Corporation for 35 years, before retiring in 1986 and then continued working as a consultant until 1999. He was also a member of the Hanover Township Sewerage Authority for 18 years. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Ann (nee Sawyer); a son, Daniel Fawcett of Yardley, PA; a daughter, Carol Fawcett of Bristol, PA; a step-daughter, Paula Foreso of Livingston, NJ; and step-grandchildren, Brian Konopka, Steven and Taylor Payne, and Zachary and Jacob Gurney.

And 5 step-great grandchildren. Services will be private. Interment will be at a future date at the Newtown Cemetery, Newtown, PA.
