Bobby married his first wife, Jancie, in 1970 and had three beautiful daughters: Katie, Lisa, and Robyn. Bobby’s first successful career was in the music business. He formed the Top 40 band, Rose Colored Glass, in 1970.

In a short year, the band recorded and released their first record, ‘Can’t Find the Time to Tell You’. This recording was destined to be a hit and climbed to Number 9 in Billboard Magazine’s Hot 100. The band’s second hit, ‘If It’s Alright with You’, made the same chart and topped out at 41.

Bobby decided to go solo as an act and experienced great success in California and Texas. Upon returning to Texas, he opened a recording studio with his longtime friend, Jerry Matheny. Bobby kept recording and completed four albums, including such songs as ‘After America’s Team’ and ‘Hiney Wine’.

In 1982, he married Janie. The two blended their families and had their daughter, Renee, the following year. Bobby decided to close the studio.

He joined the Whataburger team in 1986 as a general manager and quickly climbed the ranks to regional training manager and then to franchise services. He retired in 2001 and quickly became bored. He then began his next business adventure with Petsfly.com.

Bobby helped found the Bayview Boat Club in 1996 where he was introduced to the Masonry and the Shrine. He became a Master Mason in 2000 and a Hella Shriner in 2001. Bobby was Worshipful Master of Zavala Lodge from 2007-2008, DDGM in 2010, and Grand Senior Deacon in 2014.

He was Potentate of Hella in 2015. He also served as a District Instructor for the past 10 years and, through the Knights of Mecca, conferred over 500 Master Mason Degrees.
