OBITUARY Robert Lee King July 4, 1923 – February 4, 2019 Robert Lee King was born July 4, 1923, in Fort Worth, Texas, and passed away February 4, 2019 in Grand Prairie, Texas where he has lived for the past 63 years. He was raised in Fort Worth, he graduated from Paschal High School in 1941, and served in the Army Air Force in WWII for two years and eight months, winning his pilot’s wings with the rank of flight officer. He received a BA degree in Sociology and History from the University of Texas in Austin in 1948, and later received teaching certificates from Texas A&M and North Texas State University.

He was a cashier for four years at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, followed by several years working as a letterpress printer in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. He began his public school teaching career in 1966, first at Travis Elementary, then South Grand Prairie High, and finally at Nimitz High in Irving. He retired in 1985.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Conant Meigs King, Sr. and Bernice Pauline King, two sisters, Mary Eleanor Cox and Bernice Corin Giddens, and one brother, Conant Meigs King, Jr He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Fannie Marie Allen King, two daughters, Carolyn Marie Saunders of Arlington, Texas and Donna Pauline Bauman of Azle, Texas, one granddaughter, Rachel Marie Smith of Arlington, Texas, two grandsons, Kale Allen Crader of Venus, Texas, and Brandon Scott Crader of Springtown, Texas, two great granddaughters, Hailey Jay Crader of Arlington, Texas, and Serinity Dawn Crader of Springtown, Texas, one great grandson, Cole Gregory Smith of Arlington, Texas, and one sister, Alice Ray Greenwood of Odessa, Texas, plus a multitude of loving friends and extended family members. Visitation: 6 pm to 8 pm, Friday, February 8, 2019 at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home in Grand Praririe, TX.

Funeral Service: 10:00 am, Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Indian Hills Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, TX. Graveside Service: 10:00, Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, TX.
