Robert Lee Trinkle, Jr., 77, of New Canton passed suddenly on May 3, 2019. He was born August 12, 1941 in Bristol, Tennessee, a son on of the late Robert Sr. and Ruby Trinkle. R. L. was a retired welder.

R.L. is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Susanne Shepherd Trinkle; two sons, Robert Trinkle and Samuel Trinkle and his wife, Holly; step-son Jamie Oliver and his wife, Lynn; sister Bernice Booher; four grandchildren; one step-grandchild and numerous other family and friends. Funeral services will be held on May 6, 2019 at 12 noon at the Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn with interment in the Fork Union Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 11 a.m., prior to the service.
