Robert Michael Bray, 60, of Portsmouth, died unexpectantly at the Southern Ohio Medical Center on Thursday, May 3, 2018. Born on May 31, 1957 in Portsmouth, he was a son of the late Ralph and Helen Bray and was employed as a maintenance technician at Shawnee State University for the past 22 years. Bob was a 1976 graduate of Portsmouth High School and Scioto County Joint Vocational School and was retired from Mercy Hospital with 20 years of service.
Preceding him in death were a son, Andrew Bray, and a brother, Ronald Bray. Surviving are his wife, Joni Combess Bray, two sons, Aaron (Laura) Bray of Minford and Adam (Kalyn) Bray of Portsmouth; four sisters, Rita (John) Newkirk of Rubyville, Carol (Jeff Cutlip) Bray of Portsmouth, Brenda (Glenn) Zimmerman of Talmadge and Donna (Scott) Manchester of Portsmouth and two precious grandchildren, Connor Andrew Bray and Charleigh Elyse Bray. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 7th, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Pastor Gary Heimbach officiating. Interment will be Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive guests at Brant’s from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.
