OBITUARY Robert R. Seeber March 3, 1926 – October 4, 2018 Robert Rice Seeber passed away in his home on October 4,2018. He was 92 years young. Bob was born in Omaha, Nebraska on March 3,1926.

He was the only child of Robert H. And Carrie Rice Seeber. Bob graduated from Lakewood High School where he was a State Track Champion in the Long Jump and 220 Relay. Upon graduation, Bob enlisted to serve in WWII as a sailor in the US Navy where he was a Radioman on the Destroyer Escort USS Isley.

In the Pacific Theatre he saw action in the battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa. After the war, Bob attended the University of Denver on a track scholarship and the GI Bill and met the love of his life and his wife of 69 years, Ottilie Stafford. They married June 11,1948.

In 1956, they became the 97th family to settle in Broomfield. Bob was a pioneer in the development of Broomfield. He served on the first School Board, was President of the Service organizations -Jaycees and Lions Club.

Bob was a founder and President of the Broomfield Veterans Memorial Museum. He was a frequent speaker at local schools where he relayed his wartime experiences to young people. Bob was the Sunday School Superintendent and lifetime member of the Broomfield United Methodist Church serving in several capacities.

He was also a 2005 recipient of the Heart of Broomfield Angel Award. Bob was a Master Educator with Denver Public Schools. He began his career as a third grade teacher at Columbian Elementary School and was then promoted to Coordinator and Assistant Principal at Sabin Elementary.

He was then promoted to Principal and was given ten days to open Traylor Elementary School which he did with grace and aplomb. Bob recently spoke at Traylor’s 50th Anniversary celebration. Bob is survived by his children, Cindy Stricker (Fred), Susan Holloran( Tom), Sally Smith (Jerry) and Jack Seeber (Lisa).

Bob was blessed with eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Bob’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, October 13 at 10:00 a.m. at Broomfield United Methodist Church. A lunch reception will follow.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to the Broomfield Veterans Memorial Museum at 12 Garden Center Broomfield, CO 80020.
