Robert M. Stump, 92, of Myrtle Street, Johnsonburg, died April 30, 2019 at the McKinley Health Center of Brookville after a two year long illness. A son of the late Hoyt and Emma (Delong) Stump, Sr., he was born on February 21, 1927 in Johnsonburg. On August 16, 1947 he married Nellie Mae (Henry) who predeceased him in 2013, less than a month shy of their 66th anniversary.

Besides his parents and his wife, Bob was preceded in death by: his step-mother, Alma Stump; a grandson, Kasey; two brothers, Hoyt, Jr. and Malcolm “Buzz” Stump; and a half brother, Jim Delong. He is survived by: three children, Larry (Trudy) Stump of Heber City, UT, Sandra (Gary) Gerber of Ridgway, PA, and Cheryl (Rudy) Kocjancic of Leeper, PA; six grandchildren, Kristen (Jamie) Williams, Kelsey Kocjancic, and Zack, Gary, Eric and Curt Gerber; and twelve great-grandchildren, Kaden, Landen, Rudy, Lucy, Presten, Gracie Mae, Josie, Lydia, Hank, Lily, Nicholas and Jonah. Bob served in the US Navy during WWII receiving the American Theater Medal and Victory Medal.

He worked at the Johnsonburg Paper Mill as Foreman for more than thirty years and also worked with the Johnsonburg Water Authority for many years. He lived all his life in Johnsonburg and was a member of the former Johnsonburg Sportsmen’s Club. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, boating and camping.

There will be no public visitation. The family will be receiving friends from 10 – 11 a.m., Monday, May 6, 2019 at the Johnsonburg United Methodist Church. Funeral Services will be held, 11:00 a.m., Monday, at the Church with Pastor Roger Peterson.

Military Honors will be accorded by the Johnsonburg/Ridgway Servicemen’s Detail. Military members are asked to assemble, 11:00 a.m., Monday, at the church. The family suggests memorials to the Clarion/Forest Visiting Nurses Assoc.
