OBITUARY Robert Thomas Evans September 24, 1944 – October 8, 2018 Robert Thomas Evans 74, of Vanceboro died Monday, October 8, 2018 Mr. Evans was a member of Bridgeton Pentecostal Holiness Church and former member of Vanceboro Pentecostal Holiness Church. During his working career he worked for Tidewater Equipment in Chocowinity, Pioneer Machinery in Greenville as a salesman and Duke Sound Music Company. Robert enjoyed playing bass and was the leader of the gospel group “The Christianaires” and they recorded 2 albums together.

He enjoyed fishing. Robert loved his family and will be missed by many. Surviving is his wife, Peggy Hicks Evans; Daughters, Sherry Lynn Evans Moore ( Eddie) of Vanceboro, Lynda Evans of Ernul and Melanie Evans Jones of Vanceboro; sister, Gail Gaskins (Linwood) of Vanceboro; brother, Kenny Evans (Barbara) of New Bern; granddaughter, Lauren “Cotton” Moore.

His funeral service is scheduled for 2:30pm Friday, October 12, 2018 at West Vanceboro Church of God. Visitation will be from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at the Church. Burial will follow at Celestial Memorial Gardens.
